Who we are

The purest air , water and scenery is without doubt on the west cost of ireland. Along the atlantic way the beeches and cliffs hold back the vast western ocean . From the coast its 5000 km till next landfall. So the orevailing westerly winds bless this part of the world with clean and unspolit flowers and tress .

The western shores can witness unforgiving storms and weather that the west of Ireland black bees have over millennia made their own and thrived - flying in windy , cold & wet conditions that keep other bees trembling in their hives.

Ireland and the west of ireland in particular, is the last stronghold for this particular strain of european black bee - a place where this bee is still numerous and healthy populations persist.

The beautiful and unspoilt west of ireland and especially in connemara, there is little to none of the intensive agiculture practised elsewhere - so our honey is wild & chemical free .

The colonys are managed, so that these bees working in their hives to produce some of the best and cleanest honey you have ever tasted .

Summer Honey from the local hedgerows & fields, with much wild dandelion and bramble nectar adding to their deliciously light falvour, Heather Honey which can offer better than most other honeys against gram- negative bacteria, and of course , Ivy Honey full of saporins which are powerful anti inflamatory compounds very effective for respitaory illness.

Our bees are caught mainly from wild hives and are now looked after with care an attention to their unique needs - using the Rose natural beekeeping method. We are not driven by the sales of honey but giving the best to our wild irish bees Apis Mellifera Mellifera.
